Acroteria and Classical Ornaments on the Federal Reserve Portico

Acroteria on a Corinthian Order building

Three acroteria appear on the apex and the corners of the pediment above the main entrance to the Federal Reserve Building. They are carved in the shape of palmettes and include elegant scrolling elements. These sculptures give a finished look to the ornate portico.
